Understanding the basics

You may be surprised to know that we are more bacteria than human cells. Even though we are in the early days of gut mico research, we know enough to know that taking care of our good bacteria, the gut, is vital to health and wellness in all aspects. From heart disease, cancer, immune system function, and all conditions related to the brain and nervous system. All these conditions and the state of those systems will most definitely affect your training. 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏋️‍♂️🚴‍♀️

The very basics of good gut health start with your own gut bacteria.  You have to feed and help them using probiotics and prebiotics.  Probiotics are helpful bacteria that pass through the gut assisting your residential bacteria on the way.  Prebiotics are food for your residential bacteria found in fruits and vegetables, cereals, legumes, tubers, etc. 🍓🥦🥑🥬😀

The easiest way to help and feed is through fermented foods.  These foods provide both the helpful bacteria otherwise known as probiotics and the prebiotics to feed your residents.  Some examples are cultured vegetables and yogurt.  You will find fermented foods in cultures and societies all over the world.

Try to eat three different types per week at a total of five servings to support your gut health.
